» Lessons at BigBeat Drum School are custom tailored to match each individual student's ambitions, interests and schedule.
» The first time you walk into one of our studios, your teacher will provide an introduction to the world of drumming: the history, challenges, benefits and beauty of playing the drums.
Through questions, examples and basic exercises, he will learn about your ambitions, current playing level and develop an education program to match your needs.
» BigBeat's aim is to prepare drummers to function in a band setting, as a team player, and to develop comfortable technique and creativity in order to express him/herself as a drummer freely. Our teachers are all active players, and will invite students to their own as well as other shows (at no cost if possible) and occassionally organize jam sessions where students have an opportunity to develop experience playing and interacting with other musicians, under professional guidance.
» BigBeat's teachers are specialized in different playing genres ranging from jazz to funk, pop, soul/R&B, blues, rock, hard rock and metal. Although all of our teachers posess an all-round knowledge of styles, we will place you with the teacher we think best matches your musical preferences.
» As an advantage over other drum schools, our main studio is fully equipped with a professional audio recording setup, so that lessons can be recorded and put onto a CD or the student's iPod at the end of the lesson. This way a student can refer back to a lesson at any time. We can also film part of a lesson or performance to be analized or for later reference.
» As most of our teachers are active international performers, your teacher might occasionally be temporarily unavailable. Though providing individually plotted programs, BigBeat ensures a uniform and continuous educational system. When your teacher is not available, your lessons will be continued by a substitute teacher who will pick up right where you left off and possibly provide a helpful alternate point of view.
Obviously, having teachers who are active performers adds a tremendous value to our lessons. Students receive information first hand from some of the world's most experienced touring and recordings drummers - our very own teachers.
» Next to its own teachers, BigBeat offers occassional masterclasses with world renown educators, exclusively for BigBeat students. Another bonus for students: the school offers discounts on magazine subscriptions and various drum gear which can be ordered through the school.
» Lessons are all private (one-on-one), either 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and are available weekly, bi-weekly or by appointment. BigBeat drum studios have two professional drum sets set up (one for teacher, one for student), equipped with high-end Sabian cymbals, REMO drum heads and DW hardware and pedals.

» BigBeat offers assistance in finding practice/study space for course students. We also offer assistance in obtaining visas** and accomodation for foreign students who wish to take a course at BigBeat!
** BigBeat is a private educational instance. As an international student, you will not need a student visa to take a course at our school. You will be able to enter the USA under the 90-day Visa Waiver Program from most countries. If your home-country is not a participant of the Visa Waiver Program, BigBeat can mediate in obtaining the right visa to visit the USA. Restrictions apply. Contact us for more information.
